Children and Youth

Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it. Proverbs 22:6

Beacon Falls Congregational Church has a vibrant and respected Sunday School program, welcoming children from birth through high school to attend.   Parents need not be members to take advantage of this Christian education opportunity for their children.  The Sunday School year runs from September to June and meets concurrently with our Sunday Worship Service; parents attend worship in our Sanctuary while the kids enjoy Sunday School in the education wing of our building.

We have a staffed nursery where babies and toddlers play.  Children in pre-school/kindergarten through high school attend grade-level classes which usually includes Bible instruction, discussion, craft-projects and games.  We use a variety of curricula from trusted Christian publishers including David C. Cook and Cokesbury.  Regularly attending students receive the Sacrament of First Holy Communion in grade 5 and the Rite of Confirmation in grade 9.

Please know that the safety of your children while attending Sunday School is of our paramount concern.  We take many steps to ensure that children of all ages will be taught in as safe and secure a manner as is possible.  Still, until you are comfortable letting your child attend, you are welcome to keep him/her with you in the sanctuary during the worship service.   Also, you are welcome to accompany your child to their Sunday School class until such a time you are both comfortable with separating.   Your child(ren) will have ample opportunity to get to know kids of their age after service during our fellowship coffee hour which may help him/her transition away from you during Sunday School time.
