Got lots of Holiday Photos? Our Annual Cabin Fever Crop event will take place on Saturday, February 18th from 10am to 10pm (yes, that’s right, it’s a full 12 hours!). Your $50 registration fee gets you breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks and plenty of room to do your thing. You’ll also have free use of our scrapin’ equipment (Sizzex/Cricut machines) and access to vendors, raffles, etc. See Julie Fitzpatrick to register!

Ash Wednesday

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the Lenten Season and we will observe such with our traditional Ash Wednesday Service of Holy Communion and Imposition of the Ashes. Please partake in this season of repentance and renewal by preparing your hearts along side your church family. Our Ash Wednesday service will take place on Feb. 22nd at 7:30PM. You need not be a member, all are welcome and sincerely invited to attend.

Annual Italian Supper

Come support our Sr. Pilgrim Fellowship (our high school youth group) while enjoying a delicious dinner. Our Annual Italian Supper will take place on Saturday, February 25th in our fellowship hall. Seating will take place from 5:30pm to 7:00pm and tickets will be sold at the door. Adults – $8, Seniors – $5, Children ages 6 to 12 – $5 and children 5 and under – FREE! Join us for all-you-can-eat italian food served family style. We look forward to seeing and feeding you!

Palm Sunday

On Sunday, April 1st we will observe Palm Sunday
in two very special ways! Please join us!

Firstly, it is designated as “Bring a Friend to Church Sunday”. Do you long to share your faith but don’t know how? Would you like to see our church grow but aren’t sure what to do to help? The easiest and most effect way to share your faith and grow our church is to INVITE A FRIEND! Ask a neighbor, co-worker, family member or friend to come see for themselves This Family of Faith We Call Our Own. Let them experience, first hand, our fun, friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Most importantly, let them hear for themselves the Good News preached from our pulpit!

Secondly, we will hold our 2nd Annual Easter Egg Hunt immediately after worship service. This was a grand time last year … check out the pics at the very bottom of our gallery page. What a perfect opportunity to ask families with children to check us out. All kids will be given the opportunity to grab a share of Easter chocolates and candy in our church yard after the worship service. Who knows, maybe the Easter Bunny will even make an appearance again this year?!?!?

Maundy Thursday

We will observe Maundy Thursday, which commemorates the Last Supper of Jesus Christ with His Apostles as described in the gospels, with a Candlelight Service of Holy Communion and Tenebrae on April 5th @ 7:30PM. Our 5th grade Sacraments Class students will be receiving Holy Communion for the first time that evening.

According to Wikipedia, the word MAUNDY is derived through the Middle English and Old French word mandé, from the Latin mandatum, the first word of the phrase “Mandatum novum do vobis ut diligatis invicem sicut dilexi vos” (“A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you”), the statement by Jesus in the Gospel of John (13:34) by which Jesus explained to the Apostles the significance of his action of washing their feet. The word TENEBRAE refers to the ceremony within the service of the gradual extinguishing of candles upon a stand in the sanctuary called a hearse.

Come experience this beautiful worship service for yourself. Many in our church family site this as the most moving and special service of our year. We do warn you, however, that it is a “dark” service both physically (no lights, only candlelight) and emotionally (including solemn readings of the betrayal, trial and crucifixion of our Lord and an affecting performance of the hymn “Were You There When They Crucified My Lord?”). It is likely not appropriate for young children.

6:30 am Sunrise Lakeside Easter Service, led by our Sr. Pilgrim Fellowship Youth Group, at Matthies Park. Dress for the elements and bring your own lawnchair or blanket to sit on.

8 am “early” Worship Service in our Sanctuary, followed immediately by our …

8:45 am Easter Fellowship Breakfast, prepared and served by the men of our church, no cost but a free-will offering will be accepted. Then …

10 am “regular” Worship Service in our Sanctuary.
