Beacon Falls Congregational Church takes prayer seriously. Philippians 4:6 tells us “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” Our church maintains a “Prayer List” and we ask our members to pray daily for those joys and concerns. We invite you to attend our Sunday worship service so that you may add your prayer intention to our list.
Additionally, we’re pleased to offer two other prayer-based initiatives here at Beacon Falls Congregational Church.
First – We hold monthly prayer meetings called “People At Prayer” which focus on worship, praise, confession, thanksgiving and the needs of our church and its members. We’ll take one hour, usually on the first Wednesday of each month from 6-7PM, to lift up our church/ministry needs, all those intentions already on our prayer list and any other requests brought by those present. So please join us in the Sanctuary for any of our “People At Prayer” meetings and plug into the power of group intercessory prayer!
Second — Most of you are familiar with our prayer list, where we pray for the needs of others as re-quested by those submitting prayer cards during our worship service. While many of you regularly submit intentions to our prayer list for others – we realize you might have a hard time seeking prayer for yourself. Well, please know – we want to pray for you! So we’re pleased to offer an almost weekly ministry called “Prayer Care”. It’s an opportunity for us to pray for you individually, privately and personally. Volunteer pray-ers are available and happy to offer intercessory prayer with you. Each Sunday, just after we conclude worship, and while the congregation exits the sanctuary, “Prayer Care” volunteers will be located in the front of the sanctuary in case anyone would like one-on-one prayer time. You are invited to just come for-ward, one at a time, if you’d like to be prayed for. Let your prayer volunteer know what your concern or need is and she or he will lead you in a brief time of prayer to our gracious Lord about it. In the event that there is a line, please just hang back a bit to give adequate space to those praying in case the needs are confidential or sensitive in nature. This “Prayer Care” ministry takes place every Sunday EXCEPT the first week of each month – as we don’t want to interrupt the Sunday School staff’s celebration of Holy Communion which already takes place immediately after service.
